What is Paxil ®?

Paxil is an anti-depressant that restores the chemical balance in the brain by increasing the amount of serotonin, a chemical that affects the central nervous system, controlling mood, sleep patterns, appetite, and sexuality, among other things. Paxil, which was first introduced in 1992 by drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline, is a type of drug known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRIs).
